Birth of a sisterAgnes Caroline CHALLIS
September 1852 (Age 3 years)

Death of a motherFrances WHYBRO
December 1852 (Age 3 years)
Note:
I now think the below entry is dubious in view of the burial record shown at Little Shelford in 1854. I believe that Frances may well have died in December 1852 in Wantage (2c 196). This is the only death record I can find in this name, it comes 3 months after the birth of Agnes and may explain the Sawston Church record entry for 1853 which has no other detail and why there is no mention of Frances in the Sawston Church record.

Shared note
Both William and Frank were born before Catherine married. There is speculation that the father was the owner of the leather works. Later she married Mr Andrews from WHITTLESFORD and they had several children before he died. Her sister had married a Freestone, from Sawston, and moved to Surrey and when she died Catherine went to Surrey and married Freestone and they had the two children Albert and Tom. A rough note, from Roys I guess, shows William Ansell Challis died 23 December 1893 aged 70 years ( born 1823?) and a Thomas Challis died April 1810 and Ann, his wife, died March 1837, while their daughter Ann, wife of John Marsh, died 30 April 1822 aged 32 years (born 1790?)
